Foundations of Early Intervention in Philadelphia

This is a required professional development program for all providers to begin within 90 days after their initial hire into the Philadelphia Infant Toddler Early Intervention System (access to Foundations course for new Service Coordinators, MDE Team, and Supervisors). Steps 1-4 need to be completed as early as possible within those 90 days. Depending on your first workshop date, the remaining steps may be completed within months 3 through 12. Since this is an application-based course you should not begin the workshops if you have not yet started to work with families with children from birth to three years old.

Steps to complete course:

  1. See course schedule below this section and register for a three-workshop series.

  2. Film your first video and submit it to instructor at Workshop 1. This video will NOT be viewed during the workshops. (PDF of instruction and consent form).

  3. Complete Unit 1 below before attending the first workshop. The unit should take about 30 minutes to complete depending on how long you explore the related resource materials.
    1. Complete this before attending session #1: Unit 1
    2. Complete this after attending session #1 and before session #2: Unit 2
    3. Complete this after attending session #2 and before session #3: Unit 3

  4. Complete this online module: Ounce

  5. Complete your second video after workshop 2 and bring it to workshop 3

  6. After workshop 3, complete the ECO follow-up activity.

  7. After workshop 3, complete this survey.
