Health literacy is the ability to find, understand, evaluate, communicate, and use health information to make informed decisions about your health. An individual's health literacy level is a key predictor of health outcomes. The Pennsylvania Health Literacy Coalition has developed a series of online training modules devoted to topics in the field of health literacy. This series ("Communicating to Connect: Strategies to Improve Health Literacy") offers learners concrete strategies for clear health communication based on guiding principles of health literacy. The series is intended for any learner who plays a role in addressing the health and health care of patients or consumers.

The modules are divided by subject matter. Each module takes approximately 45 minutes to one hour to complete. For more information about the Coalition and the modules, please visit the PAHLC website.
