The Spine Program - Whether you're living with back pain, a spinal deformity or a spinal tumor, turn to the Spine Program - Neurological Surgery at Jefferson. Jefferson neurosurgeons treat more patients with disorders of the spine and spinal cord than any other program in the Northeastern United States. Each year, our neurosurgeons perform more than 1,500 spine procedures, from herniated disk surgeries to complex anterior and posterior reconstructive instrumentation-based procedures. As experts in the management of back pain, spine tumors and spinal cord injury, we work closely with other physicians at Jefferson - including traumatologists, intensivists, physiatrists, oncologists, orthopedists, neurologists and pain management specialists - to provide a full continuum of spine management. Jefferson is designated a Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. We are also one of only a few hospitals in the U.S. that is both a Level 1 Trauma Center and a federally designated spinal cord injury center. The surgeons of the Spine Program - Neurological Surgery are active in clinical research initiatives to investigate new technologies and techniques, and we continually coordinate and participate in clinical trials for the benefit of our patients. |
