Department of Family and Community Medicine CME

Physicians from throughout the Delaware Valley have come to know Jefferson for its quality of care in family medicine. Jefferson's is one of the strongest family medicine programs in the country, offering residency and fellowship programs and treating roughly 50,000 patients per year. Jefferson family practitioners manage patients and educate them and their families about their health maintenance, care and medical conditions. Available any day or time of the week, these physicians place emphasis on screening, prevention and continuity of care.

    The Eastern Shore Medical Symposium combines quality education with a great location. If you are a primary care physician, family practitioner, advanced practice nurse, or other health-care professional, take advantage of this comprehensive update on relevant medical topics in a relaxed, collegial atmosphere. This year's program focuses on important topics like adolescent health, including eating disorders; stroke prevention; practical strategies in cancer prevention; G.I. update; new vaccination guidelines for adults; dementia management; and women's health.

      Information about Conference Clinical Recommendations for Performance Improvement

    Jefferson Eastern Shore Medical Symposium attendees are invited to participate in a 3 part exercise to help them implement the clinical recommendations made during the conference into their practices.

    Overview:
    The goal of continuing medical education programs such as this one is to help healthcare professionals maintain and improve their competence and performance in practice, with the ultimate outcome of improving patient care. To help translate new knowledge into practice, this activity has featured a number of evidence-based measures, which in the opinion of our expert faculty educators, should be implemented into your patient care practices. By your participation in this practice focused project, you may earn up to five additional AMA PRA Category 1 credits.
