General Information
Jefferson InterProfessional Education Center (JCIPE) invites you to submit abstracts for the 2012 Interprofessional Care for the 21st Century: Redefining Education and Practice conference which will be held May 18-19, 2012 at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA. The purpose of this conference is to showcase scholarly work and works in progress advancing interprofessional education and/or practice.
Conference Learning Objectives:
- Develop strategies to incorporate interprofessional competencies within education and/or practice.
- Incorporate the use of technology within interprofessional education (IPE) and/or practice.
- Critique evaluation strategies related to interprofessional competencies for education and/or practice.
- Assess individual education and/or clinical practices in light of the information and discussion during the conference and identify specific strategies to implement as part of a continuing improvement process for your practice(s).

Submissions focused on geriatric education or care will be given special consideration for a dedicated geriatric track.
We are seeking presentations in the following categories:
- A Works in Progress is a presentation that shares the early stages / in-progress pilot programs and/or research related to interprofessional education and/or collaborative practice. Presenters have the opportunity to elicit feedback and foster interactive dialogue.
The session duration is 20 minutes with a 10-minute formal presentation and a 10-minute discussion. - A Research Paper is a presentation that shares completed qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods research and its broad impact on interprofessional education and/or collaborative practice.
The session duration is 20 minutes with a 10-minute formal presentation and a 10-minute discussion. - A Seminar is an in-depth presentation relevant to interprofessional education and/or collaborative practice including opportunity for dialogue and networking.
The session duration is 45 minutes. - A Workshop is an interactive presentation with active participant involvement. Workshops must include a structured hands-on learning activity.
The session duration is 90 minutes. - A Poster is an interactive presentation using a visual display to showcase the program or research findings.
Submissions must be made online and are due January 3, 2012 and January 31, 2012 for students. We encourage you to review these guidelines and develop your submission before beginning the online process.
