Program Director

Philippa Campbell, "Pip" has her PhD in Special Education. She directs all of the research and training projects that come under CFSRP. Pip provides training for childcare and early intervention staff, and conducts research, within the state and across the country, with therapists, early intervention personnel, and children with disabilities. She has published widely in early childhood education research and practice books and periodicals.

Vanessa Anderson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation Services from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Her primary research interests include the use of assistive technology in the pediatric population and how it can improve activities of daily living. She participates in data collection and researching quality examples of child care.

Erica Dobbins has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Bryn Mawr College. Her primary interests include child development and ways in which family function influences children's health and well-being. She contributes to data-entry and provides assistance in other areas of CFSRP research activities.

Jennifer Fleming holds a Master of Science degree in Experimental Psychology from Villanova University. Her primary research interests are in child development, parent-child interactions and childcare quality. She contributes to a study on consultation quality in childcare programs and is summarizing findings from a qualitative analysis of effective professional development for early childhood professionals. Jen is also involved in activities to promote early interventionist-family relationships.

Alexis Kennedy holds a Master of Science degree in Education, with an emphasis in Counseling and Psychological Services from University of Pennsylvania. She is currently coordinating and implementing a new program designed to aid in social emotional developmental for young children in the Philadelphia region. Alexis is providing on-site consultation to directors and staff, co-leading teacher trainings, and providing parent workshops while also working with children on a weekly basis.

Jill McLeod holds a Master of Social Work degree from Temple University. Her primary interests are in infant mental health and the design and use of low-tech assistive technology to increase young children's participation in home and community settings. She participates in implementation activities and data collection within the Tots-n-Tech project. Jill also contributes to professional development initiatives related to infant mental health and promoting early intervention within natural environments.

Staci Perlman holds a Ph.D. in social welfare. Her primary research interests include inclusive practices in early childhood care, particularly for children with behavioral problems. She is currently conducting data analyses for two studies in the Tots-n-Tech project. The first is examining the implementation of a professional development model for increasing usage of assistive technology. The second is identifying best practices for increasing access and usage of assistive technology.

Brook Sawyer holds a Ph.D. in education. Her primary research interests include early intervention providers' beliefs and their translation into practice and ways in which early interventionists teach and interact with caregivers. In addition, she is an instructor for Teaching and Learning Collaborative (TLC).
