25th Anniversary Issue is the Last for The Scientist

25th Anniversary CoverTwenty-five years after its founding by Philadelphian Eugene Garfield, The Scientist has published its final issue.

Billed as the magazine for life science professionals, The Scientist was a print and digital publication dedicated to covering a wide range of topics central to the study of cell and molecular biology, genetics, and other life-science fields.  Its print issues and website were widely read and respected.

Acquired by the London-based Science Navigation Group (SNG), the journal was merged with SNG’s Faculty of 1000 (F1000) web product, but still couldn’t  earn enough to cover its expenses.

It remains to be seen how the website and archived issues will be handled.
