The Pew Internet & American Life Project has released its latest report on the use of mobile devices to access health information: Mobile Health 2010. The report is freely available for download or reading online.
The report concludes that online health-information environment is going increasingly mobile:
- 17% of cell phone users have used their phone to look up health or medical information
- 9% have software applications or “apps” on their phones that help them track or manage their health
Perhaps not surprisingly, the data find such use much higher among younger consumers, and among more highly educated consumers.
