Ann Koopman, AM

Ann Koopman is the editor of JEFFLINE, supporting the JEFFLINE communities and AISR’s online resources. She works parttime, usually Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Ann also assists faculty with copyright issues for education or publishing, assists in staffing the reference desk and writes the AISR News blog.

Background & Training

A librarian for over 30 years, Ann was previously the manager of the Jefferson Digital Commons, and head of the Information Services Department at Scott Memorial Library. Before coming to Jefferson in 1995, she was the Science & Engineering Reference Librarian at Indiana University - Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI). She earned her master’s from the Graduate Library School of the University of Chicago. Her AB from Lawrence University was in anthropology and religion.

Professional Activities

Ann is currently serving a term on the board of the Special Libraries Association (SLA). She is also an assistant editor of the Sci-Tech News, the quarterly journal of the Science-Technology Division of SLA. In the past, she has served on the boards of Sci-Tech and the local SLA Philadelphia Chapter for many years.

Ann is a member of the American Library Association (ALA), the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), and the Philadelphia Chapter of the Medical Library Association (MLA).
