is comprised of faculty and students who review serious incidents
compromising professionalism and integrity.

participated in the Activities Fair. Also, a special Thank You
to Serve Rite Store Manager Vince who donated 5 cases of soda
for the event.
- Freshmen (Class of 2003) Student Council
Representatives will be held on Tuesday, September 28. Look for
information via email.
- Student Organization Information:
- Reimbursement requests: forms available
in Student Affairs Office (in treasurers folder on table)
- New Student Council Electronic Mail Policy 1999-2000:
- As of the 1999-2000 academic year, JMC
student organization representatives will be permitted to
send announcements to each of the four (4) medical school
classes as well as to the College of Health Professions and
the College of Graduate Studies via electronic mail.
- Representatives will be permitted to
a maximum of two (2) announcements per event/meeting.
It is preferred, however, that only one announcement be sent
per event/meeting.
- An email detailing the complete policy
will be sent to each of the classes.
II. DEANS REPORT: Dean Christian
- Notes on the Class of 2003:
- 46% female, age range: 19-44; 6% minority
(increase of 2% from the last 3 years)
- Freshmen Orientation was a success; thank you to the Freshman
Assistance Committee (FAC) chaired by Aradhna Saxena 02.
2) USMLE Step I
- Jefferson was below the
National Average for scores on the National Boards this year.
(National Average = 214; Jeffersons average = 208).
- A special task force will meet this month
to look at the curriculum and propose changes for the near
future. An emphasis will most likely be placed on moving towards
a more Case-Based Curriculum, or at least more integration
of Case-Based learning into the Basic Science Courses.
3) Construction of the new Jefferson building
will most likely start next semester. The building will be on
top of the Scott Plaza parking garage (both sides). Although
the structure is still being debated, the latest plans are to
save the 11th street side of the garage and have
a structure connecting the two portions of the building that
will extend over the steps in the middle of Scott Plaza.
4) Library Fall Hours will go into effect
after Labor Day.
5) Bluemle will be open to all Jefferson
students for studying throughout the school year.

protocols for research involving animals at Jefferson.
5) CURRICULUM:
- The Curriculum committee consists of
students and the basic science course coordinators.

is Dr. Phillip Wolfson.
- This year, the Student Curriculum Committee
has been formed. This committee will consist of the course
