EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE REPORT:
President
Nothing to report
Vice President
Executive board elections are coming up. Nominations will be accepted
any time between this meeting and the November meeting. It is
necessary to attend the November Student Council meeting to accept
nominations for executive board positions. Voting will be conducted
by ballot for the 1st and 2nd years (during their November exam)
and through Pulse for the 3rd and 4th years. Candidates will be
asked to submit a personal statement that will be sent out to
the classes.
Treasurer
Guidelines for reimbursements, coference funding, and additional
funding will be posted on Pulse. The new reimbursement form has
been posted on Pulse to reflect the changes in deadlines. Click
the "Student Council" Organization, and the "Guideline/Forms"
tab.
Secretary
We are currently talking with Jeffline administrators to update
some of the aspects of the Leadership guide, and to make it easier
to find both the JMC Students section, and the Student Council
page from Jeffline. The alcohol policy, trademarking policy, and
poster/advertising policy will be directly linked from the Pulse
site. Click the "Student Council" Organization, and
the "Guideline/Forms" tab.
DEAN'S REPORT (Dr. Lopez):
JMC Fall Party - 10/28 - 5-8 PM (JAH)
** The Office of Scientific Affiars is able to provide funding
to students for transportation to research meetings where the
student is presenting a paper or a poster where he or she is the
primary authour **

ADMISSIONS COMMITTEE (Danielle Pineda):
6000 applicants so far, 7 have been accepted Early Decision
AFFILIATIONS COMMITTEE (Cristina Maniu, Christina McGowan):

ALUMNI COMMITTEE (Meredith Osterman, Krisitina Pao):
Alumni weekend went well

FCM and Clincial Dx from last year discussed
Efforts under way to standardize the preceptor visit
STUDENT AFFAIRS (Erin Cunningham, Melissa Wilson)
Blood Drive Team approved
There are many important guidelines that organizations need to
follow with mentioning alcohol in e-mails, using the Jefferson
trademark, and posting flyers around campus (max. of 30, only
on doors and bulletin boards, no walls).
TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE (Dan Hernandez, Dan Relles ):

NEW BUSINESS:
- Hema N. will seek funding from the Office of Scientific Affairs
for the Radiology Society of North America meeting
- Blood Drive Team recognized by Student Council as an organization
- Jade presented on APAMSA conference:
- Over 200 medical students present w/ 41 schools represented
- Learned about diseases and treatment goals relevant to Asian
Americans
- Jim Hsieh was elected Regional Director for PA, MD, VA,
DE, and DC
- OB/Gyn Society was awarded Additional Funding
- Jefferson Christian Fellowship was awarded Conference funding
for a Medical Missions Conference in Kentucky
