EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE REPORT:
President:
- Welcome to new 1st year reps
- Mailroom incident: The room was left in disarray one weekend; Deans are considering locking the room on weekends, so please be respectful of the mailroom
Secretary:
- Attendance policies (more than 2 unexcused absences for class reps=probation)
- Student Faculty and Reps are all required to attend meetings, or email us well in advance—valid excuses include rotations, etc.
Treasurer:
- Budget Allotments this year were lower, but we want more SC and club interactions, we want to give class reps more financial decision making power, and we want to eliminate having a surplus-Come to meetings and ask for emergency funding
DEAN'S REPORT (Dr. DeSimone):
- Welcome to Freshmen-4th years are now applying for residencies, getting their letters of recommendations, and taking their clinical skills exams
- USMLE Step 2 July 2003 averages: Passing=94% in all schools, 93% in Jefferson; national mean was 218, Jefferson mean was 215

ADMISSIONS COMMITTEE (Ahmara Gibbons) :
AFFILIATIONS COMMITTEE (Bahar Fazeli, Gregg Goldstein):
- Met with deans, getting photos for Affiliations Day book
ALUMNI COMMITTEE (Ellen Syndlowski, Anton Jorgensen):
- Meeting next week to discuss Alumni Weekend, Parent’s Weekend, and Career Day
RESEARCH COMMITTEE (Ben Creelan, Julie Newcomer, Michelle Pramick, Lauren Moomjian, Sonia Chaudhry):
- Meeting with Dr. Lopez next week;
- had a great showing of interest at the activities fair,
- thinking of making a website which includes Grand Rounds Schedules
CURRICULUM COMMITTEE (Judith Kaplan, Josh Sleeper):
- Meeting next week; Course review for Physical Diagnosis
STUDENT AFFAIRS (Sejal Shah, Corey Tabit):
- FAC was a success;
- Big Sib/Little Sib program went very well;
- approved 2 new clubs at the Student Affairs meeting: Move For Health and SOAR
TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE (Levi Chazen, Allan Simpao):
- New Computers in JAH;
- MP3 recordings of lectures now available;
- long talk about joining forces with/eradicating the noteservice
CLASS REPORTS:
Class of 2005:
3rd Block; doing residency applications, taking clinical skills exam
Class of 2006:
Finished USMLE Step 1, in Block 2
Class of 2007:
Finished first test of the year; Excellence in Teaching Award winners were Dr. Vogel and Dr. Kocher
Class of 2008:
New reps; Planning a Jeff HOPE Fundraiser event with 2nd years for next post exam
NOMINATIONS: open until the end of October, voting in November, switch in December

NEW BUSINESS:
- Conference Funding policies: We decided to have people make mini presentations (2 minutes) about what they did at the conference before giving them the reimbursement
- MOVE FOR HEALTH: Ravi Patel and Candice Cavichhia introduced the organization for diabetes education, exercise supported by Family Med. It works with JCHP, PT, and JMC. Approved and given $100 initial funding
- SOAR: Student Organized Against Rape was introduced by Sapna Singh; People showed great interest at the activities fair, want to do ER Work, Shelter Work, domestic abuse lectures, etc. Approved and given $100 initial funding
- Conference Funding: Chris Coletti requested money for the ACEP Emergency medicine national conference. He was given $100.
- Anton Jorgensen filled in for David Rosen and Seth Grossman to request funding for the Jewish Student’s Association. They were given $100.
- Alex Poor and Katie Schrack requested money for the Jefferson Soccer Club. They were given $200.
