AOA Projects & Services: Other Activities
Liaison for National AOA
This person serves as our contact to National AOA.
Literature, Arts, & Medicine
The goal of this year's Literature, Arts, & Medicine group is to explore
the beliefs and presuppositions behind the practice of medicine historically
and in the modern era. Short common readings may be shared on topics such
as the use of language in literature and medicine, and of medicine in
classical literature of Herodotus, Shakespeare, or Tacitus. Trips may
be arranged to museums in Philadelphia and New York to explore the relationship
between emotion and medicine in art, and the depiction of traditional
medicine in the arts of other cultures.
AOA Web Site
AOA makes its guides available to students on the JEFFLINE
Web site, along with information about tutoring, the mentors program, and our other activities. You'll find us at http://jeffline.jefferson.edu/JMCstudents/AOA.
Social Events
This committee helps to organize social events with AOA students as well
as with other Jefferson students to further enhance the Jefferson community.
All students are welcomed and encouraged to participate in any of the
above activities
