Description: The Science Citation Index is the most comprehensive basic science index available in Scott Memorial Library. SCI covers over 3,300 English and foreign language journals in over 100 scientific disciplines. It can be used, like any bibliographic database, to identify work currently being done in the physical and biomedical sciences. It is mainly used, however, to trace related works through time, since it also indexes the footnotes or bibliographies of each paper. Topical searching is by keyword only - no controlled vocabulary is available.
