  • Campbell R. Harvey's Hypertextual Finance Glossary (personal site)
    Produced by a business professor at Duke University, the glossary contains over 3,500 entries that can explain the difference between "Naked strategies" and "Covered option strategies."

  • Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
    CMS manages the following government programs: Medicare, Medicaid, State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA). Information for health care professionals, state government agencies, and the general public are included on this site, in addition to public affairs news releases.

  • Dow Jones Newswire
    This is a current awareness financial tool that includes stock prices and news articles related to the financial world. News from health care, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology is included.

  • Health Systems Development Group (World Bank)
    An information resource for healthcare managers, analysts and decisionmakers who want to learn more about the economics and financing of health care delivery in developing countries. Part of the World Bank Group's Health, Nutrition and Population section.

  • Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO)
    The JCAHO is an independent, non-profit organization which sets standards, evaluates, and accredits health care organizations in the United States.

  • The Milbank Quarterly (Milbank)
    A journal of public health and health care policy, created to present a series of electronic articles presenting the policy trade-offs of a particular subject.

  • National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA)
    NCQA is an independent not-for-profit organization that serves as an information resource about managed plans. Included are online publications, educational resources, and employment information in the field of managed care.

  • North American Industry Classification System (NAICS)
    NAICS came into existence in July, 1998 and is under constant development as a tool to classify businesses and organizations by the product or service they produce. It is intended to replace the Standard Industry Classification (SIC) system.

  • Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council (PH4C)
    PH4C is an independent state agency that addresses health care costs quality, and access. Includes reports and interactive statistical databases on HMOs, coronary bypasses, county profiles, hip and knee replacements, and hospital performance.

  • Standard Industry Classification (U.S. Census Bureau)
    The SIC was established to classify businesses by the products or services they produce. Although this system was replaced in 1998 by the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS), it is still in use by many business publications.
