  • Alternative Medicine Digest
    Alternative Medicine.com offers many different forms of publications and services for sale. With that caveat, however, selected full text articles of the Alternative Medicine Digest are freely available from July, 1999 to present. The digest is a popular magazine aimed at consumers.
  • Alternative Medicine Review (Thorne Research)
    This bimonthly peer-reviewed journal publishes scientific reports, monographs, and a calendar of upcoming conferences and meetings. Access to current full text requires a paid subscription; however, tables of contents and abstracts are freely available for current issues, and full text for back issues through May, 1996. This scholarly journal is aimed at practitioners.
  • Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine (Innovision Communications)
    A peer-reviewed journal intended for practitioners, which describes itself as encouraging "the integration of alternative therapies with conventional medical practices in a way that provides for a rational, individualized, comprehensive approach to healthcare."
  • Complementary & Alternative Medicine at the NIH
    Occasional issues of this quarterly newsletter of the Office of Alternative Medicine are available from December 1995 to date. It features reports on NIH-sponsored research, agency news, and consensus conference statements from OAM.
  • FDA Consumer
    A bimonthly magazine for consumers, the FDA Consumer both promotes good health and reports on current FDA activities to ensure that the products the agency regulates (food, human and animal drugs, medical devices, and biologics) are fit to use.
  • Medical Herbalism: A Journal for the Clinical Practitioner (MedHerb)
    Selected articles from the current issue are freely available. Articles from back issues may be ordered for a fee. As indicated in its title, Medical Herbalism is intended for a clinical audience.
  • Natural Health Village
    Provided by Natural HealthLine, the "village" includes current holistic heath news, with links to full text articles from both general news and medical journals. Intended for a popular audience.
  • The Scientific Review of Alternative Medicine
    A free, peer-reviewed journal for evaluating alternative medicine is published by the Center for Inquiry Transnational.

  • The Scientific Review of Mental Health and Practice
    A free, peer-reviewed journal, published by the Center for Inquiry Transnational
  • Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients: The Examiner of Medical Alternatives (TLDP)
    The Townsend Letter is a newsletter published in print form 10 issues/year. Selected articles are freely available in full text at the Web site, along with an index to all issues from 1983 - present. Authors include researchers, clinicians and patients, for a mixture of perspectives on the subject. Intended for both consumers and clinicians.
