Comprehensive online databases include opportunities from government, association and foundation sources.

Community of Science Funding Opportunities (COS)

Searching for Opportunities:
The most comprehensive source of funding information available on the Web, COS reports on opportunities available from over 15,000 funding sources -- federal, state, public, private and international. The subscription service is available through JEFFLINE or your COS Workbench.

Updated daily.

Advanced search features can limit results by amount, deadline, experience, type of funding, location, etc.

Funded Research Search: Funded research search from COS Workbench allows simultaneous searching across NIH, NSF, USDA and other agency awards, or choose one funding agency to search in more detail.

Current Awareness: All Jeffersonians may use the COS Funding Alert service.

Other Features: The free COS Workbench allows anyone on the Internet to enter a research profile into an international database of researchers, search select free databases, and save searches as local files.

GrantsNet

Searching for Opportunities: Primarily directed at biomedical researchers in the early stage of their careers (graduate students, medical students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty), the Graduate and Postgraduate Database also includes some opportunities for Senior Scientists/Faculty.

Produced by the American Association for the Advancement of Science and Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

Search by level of experience.

Free but requires registration.

Contains approximately 1,000 programs.

Highlights include a Career Development center, Postdoc Network, Minority Scientists network. Features excellent articles on issues in research and biomedical education, grantwriting tools and tips, funding advice, postdoc and graduate student career advice
