Research
The Jefferson Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine is committed to conducting research, collaborating with other research groups, and monitoring ongoing research in order to be at the forefront of integrative medicine research and clinical practice. While more studies are being conducted each year, thanks in large part to the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, a significant amount of research still needs to be done to effectively determine which integrative medical approaches are most clinically beneficial and to understand more clearly how they work.
Our research efforts focus on mindfulness-based stress reduction, mindfulness-based art therapy, light therapy, nutrition, yoga and other areas. As part of the Bravewell Collaborative, we are also part of the Bravewell Practice-Based Research Network (BraveNet), whose goal is to effectively evaluate integrative medicine clinical practice.
