Clinical Practice Guidelines (ACP)
ACP's Clinical Efficacy Assessment Project (CEAP) produces evidence-based
clinical practice guidelines. Full text of current guidelines and a listing of
past guidelines are grouped by topic: Cardiology, Endocrinology &
Metabolism, General Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, and Pulmonology. Also find
links to clinical guidelines from other medical societies and background
information on guidelines and their development.
- Clinical Practice Guidelines (American Association for Respiratory Care - AARC) The American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC)
provides evidence-based and expert panel clinical care guidelines for all respiratory care practitioners, 49 at last count.
Guidelines are in both html amd pdf formats.

The American Medical Association's statement of professional practice.
- e-HIM Practice Guidelines (AHIMA)
The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) commissioned volunteer work groups to develop practice standards for electronic health information management (e-HIM). About 15 are currently available on topics such as computer-assisted coding, e-mail in provider-patient communication, and guidelines for defining the legal health record.

Based Recommendations for Preventive Services (American College
of Preventive Medicine - ACPM)
The ACPM and the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force have jointly
developed evidence-based recommendations on clinical preventive services
in the areas of screening, counseling, and chemoprevention. ACPM and
the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Task Force on Community
Preventive Services have also jointly developed evidence-based recommendations
on community preventive services in the areas of risk behaviors, disease
and injury reduction, and environmental and ecosystem challenges.

These are up-to-date screening and prevention guidelines for chronic
diseases, infectious diseases, mental health, and injuries. Their

Health Services/Technology Assessment Text (NLM)
Full text of
clinical practice guidelines developed under the auspices of the Agency
for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), formerly the Agency for
Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR).
- Joint Commission
The Joint Commission (formerly the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, JCAHO) is an independent, non-profit organization which sets standards, evaluates, and accredits health care organizations in the United States. Note: their standards are not available on their website; check Thomcat for Scott Library's holdings.

Clearinghouse (NGC)
A
searchable database of evidence-based
clinical practice guidelines, created as a partnership between the
Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), the American Medical
