Societies and Guidelines
Continuing Education
All of these resources charge money for course credit. Scott Memorial Library has no financial interest in any of the providers, and does not endorse them. The list is provided as a service to TJUH staff.
- American Society of Radiologic Technicians (ASRT)
Sells directed readings in ASRT journals, online courses, and self-directed learning tools for home study (DVDs). Members of the Society may take quizzes online and track their credits in an online database. ASRT includes a description of the ARRT requirements for CE and an FAQ about state licenses.
- EduMed
Offers online CE in a variety of disciplines, including general radiology, radiation therapy, electronic imaging, MRI and ultrasound. Courses are accredited by ASRT, AHRA and other bodies. EduMed courses are sold individually at this site. Other sites partner with EduMed to offer different access packages: Delmar CENGAGE Learning offers unlimited access to all ASRT-accredited courses for 1 year for a flat-rate subscription fee.
- Gage Continuing Education
Book-based home study courses are accepted by NMTCB and ARDMS. Most courses are approved by ASRT for ARRT category A.
No courses are conducted online.
- Healthcare Training Center
A catalog of CE resources, searchable by specialty and by state. Includes courses from EduMed, MedLearn and University of Healthcare.
- National Medical Education (formerly Scripps Education)
Sells correspondence courses and online exams.
- Radiologic Educational Services
Sells book-based home study programs
for ARRT category A credit.
- Radiology Inservice Lectures
Sells home study courses, w/ith a focus on Florida but some courses are accredited by ASRT.
- STARS: Specialized Topics in Areas of Radiologic Sciences
Sells online courses approved by the ASRT for category A credit.
- Virtual Lecture Hall - Radiology
Offers ACCME approved CME, also acceptable to ARRT and as direct credit to major states that require radiologic CE for technologists. Courses are online.

- CHORUS (Medical
College of Wisconsin)
Collaborative Hypertext of Radiology is a "quick reference" tool for
physicians and medical students produced by the Medical College of
Wisconsin Physicians & Clinics. It provides over 1,100 documents which
describe diseases, radiological findings, differential diagnoses and
related information.
- Medshare
(Harvard)
A consortium of institutions has agreed to provide shared access to
their online radiology teaching cases. This site is provided by Department
of Radiology, Brigham and Women's Hospital Harvard Medical School.

Vetted links organized into 14 sections including radiology textbooks organized by subject; continuing education sources; and user group sections for handheld computers, residents, and medical students.
- Three-Dimensional
Anatomy of the Couinaud Liver Segments (Univ. of Iowa)
These tutorials include patient scan protocol, traditional surgical
view of liver anatomy, ultrsound correlation and other topics. Prepared
by the Division of Physiologic Imaging, Department of Radiology, University
of Iowa.
- UHrad.com (UHrad)
This site includes teaching files for CT, US, MRI, Angiography and
Plain Films. Of particular note is the Women's Diagnostic Imaging
Teaching Files including Ultrasound for Women's Health from Case Western
Reserve University.
