Bulletin of the ABIH.

(ACS)

access to chemical and patent databases and electronic journals.
- American College
of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM)
The ACOEM provides a conference & continuing education calendar, position
statements, employment service, and abstracts from the Journal of
Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
- American Industrial
Hygiene Association (AIHA)
The AIHA provides membership information and services, including the
full text of numerous white papers and position statements.
- Association
of Occupational and Environmental Clinics (AOEC)
Established in 1987, the non-profit AOEC seeks to promote information
sharing, research, and collaboration among individuals and clinics.
Coordinated reporting and investigation are primary concerns.
- Consortium
for Environmental Education in Medicine (Second Nature)
A relatively new organization, founded in 1994, the CEEM works to
advance human health by understanding its relation to the environment.
The CEEM sponsors faculty and curriculum projects, a newsletter, and
other activities.
- International
Ergonomics Association (IEA)
The IEA promotes knowledge of ergonomics among 29 member societies,
and hosts a triennial conference on ergonomics issues.
- National Academy of
Sciences (NAS)
The National Academy of Sciences site includes three sister organizations:
- Society of Toxicology
This U.S. society has 16 regional chapters, and 13 specialty sections
dealing with the various scientific aspects of toxicology. It undertakes
activities to promote the growth of knowledge in the field, and to
protect public health.
- Solid Waste Association
of North American (SWANA)
SWANA provides information about professional certification and upcoming
WASTECON conferences, in addition to membership services.
- Toxicology Excellence
for Risk Assessment (TERA)
TERA is a not-for-profit organization which applies scientific data
to risk assessment issues. It sponsors an experimental database of
International Toxicity
Estimates for Risk, and a offers a program for Verifiable Estimates for Risk
Assessment (VERA).
