Databases

  • CAS Online
Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) is available as a mediated-access database. CAS is the premier database for journal articles and patient information in the field of chemistry, with over 19 million abstracts covering over 35 million substances. This subsidized service is available to TJU students, faculty and staff.
  • ChemFinder
This is a database of chemical information searchable by name, Chemical Abstract Service (CAS) number number, molecular formula, or molecular weight.
  • Chemical Information: a National Library of Medicine Specialized Information Service
The NLM provides several chemistry databases with general chemical information, two and three-dimensional structures, and U.S. and state government regulatory information. Special structure viewing support may be required -- NLM provides downloads and information about a variety of viewers. ChemID is one of the featured databases.
  • Common Chemistry (CAS)
Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), a division of the American Chemical Society, provides a free database of the 7,800 heavily-used chemicals for those who know either a chemical name or a CAS Registry Number of a common everyday chemical and want to pair both pieces of information.
  • NIST Standard Reference Data: Online Databases (National Institutes of Standards and Technology)
A compilation of NIST databases for chemistry and physics. Subject areas include analytical chemistry, chemical and crystal structure, chemical kinetics, materials properties, and surface data, along with physics and engineering related resources.
  • Sigma-Aldrich Order Center (Sigma-Aldrich)
This site is the online equivalent of the popular Aldrich Catalog chemistry text. The chemical information includes commercial product name and number, molecular formula, Chemical Abstract Service (CAS) number, and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and chemical structures.
