This workshop will provide a hands-on PAPER to the use of Multimedia ToolBook for the creation of interactive multimedia presentations and computer-based learning applications. ToolBook is an established, full-featured multimedia authoring system for the Microsoft Windows environment. Authoring systems such as ToolBook offer great appeal to those who need to build programs, but who prefer not to have to learn a difficult programming language. In this workshop you will learn how to use ToolBook's object-oriented authoring system to create colorful applications that contain text, graphics, photographic images, navigation buttons and multimedia objects (audio, digital video and animation clips). You will also be introduced to OpenScript, ToolBook's easy to understand English-like programming language, and be shown how it is possible to extend the power of your ToolBook application through the use of Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) and Dynamic Link Libraries (DLLs) to establish direct connections with other software applications.
