Our current thinking about the educational uses of technology-based learning is limited. Much of what we see (as much of health sciences education) takes a cognitivist, "data base" approach, with little attempt to bring the uncertain, emotional, and conceptually rich "swamp" of professional practice to learning.

Interactive multimedia can be a means for conveying complex concepts and situations, using the power of human circumstances and stories that can make learning satisfying, engaging, and memorable.
