BookSlate using Hypercard on the MAC was created by Carl Gandola to allow faculty, house staff and students to quickly create multimedia, clinical presentations such as CPCs and Mortality and Morbidity Conferences. Dr. Gandola will demonstrate how QuickTime movies, sound, Xrays, micrographs, ECGs, or cytology can all be incorporated. Items can easily be linked to the patient history and clinical course. In addition to cases, Chris Chen will show how to create a weekly study guide for students, so they can find and launch the software of the week and Alex Pereira will show its versatility in using the same tool to create a medical Spanish program with images and sound.
