Write-n-Cite blocked from staff computers

Write-n-Cite users have been running into problems when using computers on the campus MST network. The MS Word Status sticks at “Word is not Running” and clicking cite fails to send citation code to Word. We’re working with Jeff-IT to resolve the problem.

Using RefWorks with Apple Pages

Monday, October 13th, 2008

A couple Mac users have called the reference desk this week asking if they can use RefWorks Write-N-Cite with Pages, the iLife wordprocessing software. I asked the helpful folks at RefWorks support who said that WNC does not work with Pages, but suggested this work around:

One Line / Cite View does work with Pages and RefWorks can format the bibliography if it is saved as an RTF file.

This method should work for anyone who uses a word processor other than Microsoft Word that can save in RTF format such as Google Docs.
