PowerPoint Pearls: Applying Slide Transitions
A slide transition is the movement that occurs when a new slide is displayed. Slide transitions are used to cue your audience that your presentation is moving forward. They also serve to prevent the “jump” effect that occurs when slides with a similar layout have minor changes in the placement of text and images.

It is good practice to use unobtrusive transitions, apply them to the entire show, and never pick the Random setting.
To apply transitions to a slide show
- Click on Slide Show, Slide Transition...
- In the slide transition window, choose the effect and the speed of the transition.
- Choose the Apply button to either apply the transition to the selected slide, or Apply to All for every slide.
