PROJECT: A Visual Guide to Human Dissection, Part Two
Moses Mathur, Gaetan Sgro, Nishant Vaidyanathan, Dr. Tony Frisby, Dr. Richard Schmidt

ABSTRACT

Last summer, two second-year medical students at JMC, Michael Trotter and Swathi Vijayaraghavan, began creating A Visual Guide to Human Dissection as a learning tool for first-year medical students. The first year medical school curriculum at JMC begins with a rigorous twelve-week course titled Human Form and Development (HFD), consisting of Human Anatomy and Embryology lectures and a Human Anatomy lab. A Visual Guide to Human Dissection is intended as a guide to help students to navigate the lab portion of that course. This summer, we completed four dissection videos: (1) Anterior Abdominal Wall and Inguinal Canal; (2) Peritoneum and Foregut; (3) Midgut and Hindgut; and (4) Posterior Abdominal Wall, which have been added to the existing project.
