When creating folder names with two or more words be sure to include underscores between all words. Failure to include underscores may result in a RefShare URL being cut off and having to paste a URL in order to view citations.
If you wanted to create a folder named OVID Medline, you should enter it as OVID_Medline.
Folders>>Create New Folder
Under Tools select Share References and then click on Share Folder, which will create a URL that can easily be clicked on to view citations.
When an underscore is not inserted between words, such as the Pet Therapy example below, RefWorks will insert a percentage sign and the number 20 between words: Pet%20Therapy. This will cause problems when the folder is shared using RefShare. The URL will not work because it may become parsed.
Once a folder is emailed the recipient will receive the following email message in their inbox. Notice the URL is not broken, but can be clicked on to view the populated folder.
What if you have already created a number of folders with two or more words and want to add underscores? The solution is simple.
Folders>>Organize Folders and click on Rename.
In short, when creating folder names with two or more words remember to insert an underscore between each word.
