For more than 15 years, Jefferson has helped faculty develop technology-based learning resources for standalone and classroom use. In the late 1980's Jefferson created the Office of Academic Computing (OAC). Initially much of this work used Apple's HyperCard program. When Jefferson established Academic Information Services and Research (AISR), the OAC, Scott Memorial Library, and Medical Media Services were merged into one unit. Today, support for instructional technology is now offered through AISR's Education Services division. Most development is now targeted for CD, DVD, or World Wide Web users.
AISR's Education Services division hosted a technology seminar this fall to demonstrate some of the programs developed for use by Jefferson students and Jefferson Hospital staff. Some of these programs have been picked up for international distribution by commercial publishers. The handout from this seminar is available for you to download, (see below) and the programs are available for use in AISR's Learning Resources Centers (306 Scott & 13th floor Edison). A listing of software titles produced with AISR is available on JEFFLINE.
