Proximity Searching in Google

So, you have discovered the adjacency operator in OVID and you are wondering if this search feature is available in Google. Wait no longer.

Google has introduced GAPS (Google API Proximity Search), a beta proximity search feature.

Search terms can be searched within 1, 2 or 3 words of each other. In addition, one can sort by title, URL, ranking, or proximity.

Once a search is run the proximity search menu remains at the top of the page to help with modifying any further searches.
