Have you ever had trouble locating an image for use in a PowerPoint presentation or a multimedia online tutorial for personal study? If so, you may want to check out the new JEFFSelects module, Medical Images. It was specifically designed with these purposes in mind.
The Medical Images module provides links to online image resources in the subjects of human anatomy, genetics and microbiology, diagnostic imaging, diseases and pathology, medical history, public health, drugs and herbals, and general biology. Also included are links to other major gateways of medical images. Finally, if you are looking for non-medical images, you can find links to a limited number of these resources.
Remember that the use of images from the Internet is subject to applicable copyright laws. Users need to review each website’s statement of usage. You may need to obtain permission from the website publisher to use their images or, at the very least, you must properly acknowledge the source. For classroom usage, the Fair Use principle of the copyright law does apply. Please see the JEEFSelects module on Copyright and Fair Use for more information regarding proper usage of images obtained from the Internet.
