JEFFSelects is JEFFLINE's virtual reference collection. Resources are reviewed for quality, selected and annotated by the librarians of Scott Memorial Library, and organized into broad categories.
Two new JEFFSelects modules have been added to help you with your public health research needs:
- Community & Public Health is designed to assist you in analyzing neighborhood data, census data, and state and local information on the health of communities. Additionally, you will find a directory of state, county, and municipal health departments for southeastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and northern Delaware along with a directory of government-related planning commissions for the same areas. Links to national and international resources, including the EPA and FEMA, along with the World Health Organization (WHO), are also included.
- Emerging Infectious Diseases is designed as a disease outbreak alerting tool, with clinical and public health information about diseases that may affect the Delaware Valley. Alerts include the local news media, the CDC, WHO, and the state health departments of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Disease information is divided into transmission modes, including human-to-human contact, food & water-borne diseases, and animal & vector-borne diseases. There is also a section on diseases related to bioterrorism. This module is designed to be scanned periodically by both clinicians and public health professionals, as a way of staying current with disease outbreaks in the region.
In addition, the following JEFFSelects modules may also be helpful for locating public health information:
- Aging & Geriatrics
- Bioterrorism
- Health Care Administration & Policy
