Library Open House
In honor of National Medical Librarians’ Month, a Library Open House was held on October 16. Highlights of the day included demonstrations of online products and opportunities to talk with staff about various services. Offerings included:
- Digital Photographs
- A Display of the History of Scott Library
- Demonstrations of the Audience Response System
- The Free Library of Philadelphia
- Collection Management Services
- Education Services
- How to Create CD’s
- PDA Synching
- The New Xerox Copier/Printer
Balloons, snacks and flowers gave a festive air to the Library’s entrance and second and third floors, as staff greeted visitors and invited them to visit displays and learn about our services. Door prizes included gift certificates to the University Bookstore (donated by the JMC Alumni Association and the CGS Alumni Association), a CGS tee-shirt and CGS key rings (donated by the CGS Alumni Association), gift certificates to Top Tomato (donated by Top Tomato), Jefferson mugs (donated by CHP Alumni Association), a History of Medicine book (donated by the Jefferson Archives), travel mugs (donated by TJUH Nutrition and Dietetics) and a ceramic pumpkin (donated by the TJUH Patient Services/Gift Shop).
