Deputy’s Roundup

Check here each month for Scott Library news from Deputy Director Debbie Sibley.

Food and Beverage Policy

Scott Library adopted the following food and beverage policy last spring. We ask for your cooperation in keeping the Library clean while enjoying beverages, by using the official Jefferson mug and by taking water bottles out when you leave.

Clear and simple rules:

  1. Beverages are allowed in the official Jefferson mug.

  2. Water is also allowed in clear bottles with screw-on caps.

  3. No food.

  4. Beverages in non-approved containers and food must be discarded or removed from the library, and patrons may be asked to leave the Library.

  5. This policy applies to the public and study areas of Scott Memorial Library. No food or beverages at all are permitted in the Learning Resources Centers or Labs.
Jefferson Mugs are available for purchase in the TJU Bookstore for $3.95.

New Saturday Hours for Fall

Last spring, library users were asked to participate in a JEFFLINE survey regarding Saturday library hours. A preference for a later opening and closing time on Saturday was expressed in the survey results. The greatest number of users will be best served during the hours of 11 am to 7 pm and, beginning on Sept 2, 2003, these will be our new hours of operation. Of course, the first and fourth floors will remain open 24 hours per day as well. Thanks to the 295 people who took the time to complete the survey!
