PELS Update

Third-year medical students are now using a Palm-based application for recording patient notes. The Patient Encounter Log System, better known as PELS, is already up to version 6.0. In response to student requests, AISR developed a flyer covering how to upload PELS information after a rotation and providing solutions to the most common problems encountered by students. The flyer is available from the Learning Resources Center staff in room 306 of Scott Memorial Library and at other locations in SML.

LRC staff collected troubleshooting tips for the flyer while assisting students with PELS. This material is also available in the May-June 2003 Forum article, PELS Pitfalls.

Additional information, including installation instructions and the PELS User Guide, are available on the JMC PDA Users Group web pages (you must log on to Pulse first).
