Using Limits in PubMed

PubMed offers an extensive list of limits for narrowing a search -- including language, publication year, publication type, and the ability to limit your search to a specific field (such as journal title, author, or MeSH heading).

Enter a search term, then select Limits from the PubMed features bar to see all of the limit options. Use the pull-down menus to display all of the choices for a specific limit. Select the appropriate limits and click the Go button to run your search.

Your selected limits will display at the top of the search results screen and a check box will now appear next to Limits on the features bar.

Note: Limit selections will remain active for future searches in your session unless you turn them off before you run your next search. De-select the limits by clicking the check box to remove the check.
