Q: I have a file where every line is treated as a paragraph and the formatting is messed up. How do I fix it?
Glance at the two snapshots of a hospital patient as if you were a ¶
doctor entering the room. They seem similar. ¶
Now look at the 15th-century work, The Arnolfini Portrait, by Dutch ¶
master Jan van Eyck: a solemn man and woman touching hands. Zoom in ¶
on the painting's details. Notice the little dog? OK, zoom out. And ¶
in again. See the shoes? The still life? The reflection in the ¶
mirror? ¶
Go back to the two photographs in a hospital. Did you notice the ¶
differences between them? A light, a chair, a card. ¶

A: 1/ You need to create space where you want the actual paragraphs to be. Put in 2 extra returns (Enter key) where you want separate paragraphs to be.

2/ Turn your paragraph mark (¶) on.
3/ Under the Edit menu select the Replace function (Or Control + H).
4/ Click on the More button.
5/ Select the Special button and select Paragraph Mark.
6/ Now tell it to find instances of 3 ¶ and replace them with Manual Page Breaks.
7/ Next, have it search for the remaining ¶ and replace those with a space.
8/ Lastly, have it search for the Manual Page Breaks and replace them with either single or double ¶.
