The American Library Association has given Scott Memorial Library's Cyber Café brochure the 2002 Best of Show award in the category of Internet-related publications.
The "Best of Show" Awards are given annually to recognize the very best individual pieces of public relations materials produced by libraries in the past year. ... Library materials are judged on the quality of content (uniqueness of approach, audience appeal, and presentation of information in a clear, understandable and informative way) and by format (attractive appearance, appropriateness of design/graphics/photos to the subject matter, and uniqueness of format).
--from the ALA Website
A panel of three judges--including a humanities professor, an advertising executive, and a graphic artist--selected the Cyber Café brochure from over 350 entries.
The brochure, a collaborative effort involving several AISR staff members, employs a menu theme and was designed to highlight the expanding selection of electronic journals available through JEFFLINE.
The award-winning brochure will be displayed at ALA's annual meeting in Atlanta this summer. You can pick up your own copy at the Scott Library Reference desk or read it online (133k PDF file).
