Two Quizzes To Go, Please!

Microscopic Anatomy and Pathology now have updated self-testing modules available for your Palm PC.

AISR has partnered with PDA Verticals, host of a popular PDA website and developer of the QuizApp program, to bring a much improved study aid to your PalmOS device. (PocketPC users, there will soon be a release of QuizApp for you, too.)

Once you start the program select the subject you want to study.

This screen lets you know there are a total of 450 questions. You can display them sequentially or randomly. Click on the Customize button to select the topic you want to review and to choose the number of questions you want to include in your quiz.

In this example, I've chosen to have the questions presented randomly, and to get 5 questions in the "Cell" topic area and 10 each from "Epithelium" and "Connective Tissue". I then click on Start the Quiz.

The questions are multiple choice, and you can see on this screen shot that I have to scroll down to see additional options for the correct answer. I can make a note about this question if I want to come back to it later, move on to the next question, jump to the end, or quit. One of the great features of the new QuizApp engine is that if you jump to your datebook, or another application on your PDA, the program will restore the quiz to same point as when you left it, automatically!

My apologies to Dr. Jensh for missing this question. Having developed enough software together, I know he expects me to do better. As you can see though, I do get some nice feedback on my response.

After completing all of the questions, I have the program grade my quiz and I get a summary of my performance. Clearly, I need to get back to the book and study before the exam.

The QuizApp program is free, but the content modules do have a small charge associated with them. You can purchase the entire set of questions for a subject for $12, or select sub-units for $7 each. Microscopic Anatomy is divided into two sub-units, Pathology is divided into three sub-units. (As shown above in the first image.)

We hope to have Gross Anatomy available soon, and others too.
