Most students use self-assessment programs to help them prepare for exams. It helps them become comfortable with the exam format (multiple choice, expanded multiple choice, uncued, etc.) and with the instructors writing style. Self-assessment programs also help students identify areas they need to study more before the exam.

Last year, AISR Education Services worked with Dr. Bruce Fenderson and Dr. Ron Jensh to develop a CD-ROM based self-assessment program for Pathology and Microscopic Anatomy. These programs have been sold through medical school bookstores around the country. This winter we've teamed with an outside company to release the Q&A programs for the Palm OS.

The Palm OS versions include the same question set but are only available in the multiple-choice format. (The CD-ROM versions include flash card, multiple-choice and uncued testing formats.)

We are distributing these online -- as an electronic download -- through the popular PDA software sites Handango and Palm Gear.
