CourseInfo Update
This month I'd like to address the support options for CourseInfo, both for students and instructors. Since we have just fewer than 2,000 users on CourseInfo, we are bound to have questions popping up.

"What is my username and password?"

This is by far the most popular question that we receive. You can always send an email to us to track down the answer to this question, but you could save yourself a lot of time by following a few simple steps. The usernames of every student that has a CourseInfo account are available through the Student CourseInfo Username form. All you have to do is enter your last name in the box and hit enter. If you have a CourseInfo account, your username will be returned to you. 99% of the usernames on CourseInfo follow the setup of Firstname.Lastname, i.e. Thomas.Jefferson. Occasionally we will get a common name, such as John Smith, and we will need to use a middle initial to create the username, i.e. John.Q.Smith.

Once you locate your username, you will need to get your password. For every account created on CourseInfo, the password is set to the user's social security number without hyphens. If you have never accessed CourseInfo, then your social security number should be your password.

If you still are unsuccessful in figuring out if you have an account or what your username and password are, you will need to contact CourseInfo Support to get this information. CourseInfo Support can be contacted by sending email to CourseInfo@jeffline.tju.edu. Students should specify their name, email, and class (i.e. JMC 2nd Year) and instructors should specify their name, email, and course that they are teaching.

"I am new to using the Internet and need some help."

Your technical support contact is the Learning Resources Center (LRC) at the Scott Memorial Library. If you would like to get some hands-on assistance, the LRC is located in room 306 Scott and is staffed 9am-10pm, Monday-Thursday; 9am-8pm on Friday; 9am-5pm on Saturday; and noon to 10pm on Sunday. For off-campus questions, the LRC phone number is 215-503-8407 and is staffed during the same hours listed above. If the staff member on duty is unable to answer your question, it will be referred to the appropriate person.

"I am an instructor and would like to use CourseInfo for my course."

Contact Chris Braster (215-503-3120 or Chris.Braster@mail.tju.edu) and let him know what course you would like to setup on CourseInfo. He should be able to take care of this within 1 or 2 business days.

"Is CourseInfo training available for instructors?"

Definitely!! All Jefferson faculty may take advantage of working with AISR Education Services and our instructional designers. There are no charges for consulting on educational technologies in the classroom or for most of our course support services. Additional information is available at CourseInfo Training.

"I have other questions that aren't covered in this article."

The LRC will be able to address all your questions or route them to someone who can. Note that the LRC cannot reset passwords or create accounts. All those questions should be referred to CourseInfo@jeffline.tju.edu for the quickest response.
