Publishing an article? Need to check on style requirements, an editor's address, or the impact factor of a journal to which you are considering submitting your article? Look no further than JEFFLINE, for answers to all of the above. The virtual reference collection, JEFFSelects, has what you need.
Just like the regular reference section of Scott Library, JEFFSelects provides support tools for authors online. Under "Dictionaries, Thesauri and Writing Aids" you will find:

- style guides
- thesauri and quotation guides
- all manner of dictionaries
- Instructions for Authors
In the "Directories" section, you will find
- PubList - listing over 150,000 journals and newsletters, with publishers and editors
- Scholarly Societies - a directory of, what else? scholarly societies around the world
Instructions for Authors is the newest service available. It consists of links to the individual instructions for authors of over 3,000 journals in health and life sciences. Style, submission requirements, and addresses are yours for the asking. (Instructions for Authors is produced by the Medical College of Ohio.)
Scott Library is also one of the very few libraries in Philadelphia which provide the Journal Citation Report (JCR) for the Science Citation Index. The JCR ranks the influence journals have in their disciplines, resulting in "impact factor" ratings. While this publication is still available only in print, you can still get the information electronically - using the Askalibrarian@jefferson.edu reference service to email your question to a librarian. The library will respond to your question within 24 hours Monday through Friday.
