Access Alternatives for Guests of JEFFLINE

Use of the licensed databases, electronic journals and electronic books is limited to students, faculty and staff members of Thomas Jefferson University, and TJU's member subscribers.

The Women's Health Source facilities at several Jefferson Health System sites are available to assist you with inquiries about disease, drug, or wellness issues, or you may consult Jefferson Health System's health information online.

You may also use the public version of MEDLINE available from the National Library of Medicine and other public medical resources when you visit Scott Memorial Library.

Some popular, unrestricted Web resources include:

  • PubMed - a free public version of MEDLINE, provided by the National Library of Medicine
  • RxList - for information about prescription and over-the-counter drugs
  • ThomCat - the TJU online catalog
  • Other Library Catalogs - from the Philadelphia region and beyond

JEFFLINE includes links to many other free, public databases, books and journals. Look at the descriptions for titles listed as free.

The National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NNLM) provides a searchable directory of libraries that provide copies of documents and database searches for members of the public. There are charges for these services.
